Classes for Ages 5-10

Session 2: October 20 - December 7, 2025

Become a sculptor! Design and create your own sculpture of a winged creature

After every artist develops an individual design for their sculpture, we will start creating. Using bottles, cardboard, paper, and a wide variety of objects that we can find in the studio, we will sculpt our armature with tape and plaster. In the end, we will color our unique sculptures with acrylic paints.

Like in all our classes, this project is open-ended, and we encourage our artists to think freely and develop their own ideas. We welcome dragons, dinosaurs, flying fish, soaring monsters… or maybe just a very cool duck?

In the end, all artists are invited to display their sculpture in our next exhibition and to attend our exhibition opening party!

  • Class time: Monday 5:00-6:15pm

  • 6 classes per session: 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 12/1 (no class during Thanksgiving week on 11/24)

If you enroll more than one child, pay the full price for one class, then apply our 10% sibling discount to all other children’s art classes. In case of different program fees, the higher-priced program has to be paid in full. Use coupon code SIBLING during checkout for the discounted class.

  • What to bring: wear clothes that can be washed easily in case it gets messy (we have smocks), water bottle (optional)

This is a drop-off class. If needed, parents may stay for the beginning of the class to make sure their child feels comfortable with the group and the teacher. We will call the emergency contacts listed on your waiver if a child needs to be picked up early.

Please sign our waiver prior to your child’s first class at Blue Mouse Gallery. You can bring a printed copy to class, email us a signed PDF, or fill out the form when you arrive at our studio (please allow for extra time). We cannot permit class participation without a signed waiver.

This class will explore the fun and creative energy of patterns. We will start out with a collage to get into the pattern mood. Next, we will get inspired by the artist Charles McGee to create a drawing with interwoven patterns. Our final project will be an acrylic canvas painting inspired by Australian artist Sheree Smith who uses patterns and colors to create her unique works of art.

All artists get to choose one of their artworks to be included in our next exhibition and will be invited to attend our exhibition opening party!

  • Eva taught both of my children for three years. She is the kind of person that kids are drawn to and want to hug all the time, and yet, she is a strong leader. She is creative, attentive, and takes children and their ideas seriously.

    Melissa (parent)

  • Eva is an experienced educator who naturally connects with children. She uses her wealth of experience to keep students engaged and entertained. Never expect her to teach just one thing at a time - she constantly creates connections across subjects and will find ways to include music, math, science, or history into any art lesson.

    Zoran (colleague)

  • Eva has a gift for building connections with children of all ages within minutes. She instantly gets their attention, awakens their curiosity, and brings out their smiles. In return, she gives them respect, shares her knowledge, teaches new skills, and makes sure everybody has fun. More than a fair deal, I‘d say.
